A Note of Forgiveness…

This songbird too has long lost fight

My soul long ago shattered as I sit here battered

and contemplate my plight

I cannot feel my feet as they have been tethered

I cant understand why-

But Spirit inside me continues to long

I refuse to sit in my cell and slowly die

And so I open my voice and I let out a great song

I ruffle my feathers, I begin to dance and I cry-

Lamenting that one day I will again belong

Nightingale, refuse to give in

Look outside the confines of the mind

Listen to your heart and look within,

Imagine, that amongst the heavens you will find

Wings stretched out in glorious freedom

To once again be kissed by wind and sun

It is there, we will find true love and redemption

Bliss, delight, rapture – and “fun”

Of course – I forgive you, how could I not?

But you are not alone

In heart, spirit or in thought

Indeed you have a life and the ability to love

I can tell by your words- but you have forgotten to look above…

“Thank you.”
