"Autism & Memoirs of an Old Maid"…C'hele's Story

May 14, 2007

There is a great and wide expanse

That is silent, slow and deep

It is the inner recess of my mind

A place so black, vacant and

Unable to sleep

The awareness of it all

Tingles my very skin

The inner stillness

Is neither known or unknown

It feels like velvet for the mind

And I have no desire to understand or know

I just sit

And listen

And wait

For crystal clarity to unfurl

I’m sure, it’s like finding a priceless jewel

Hidden within a budding blossom

But its silky petals have yet to uncurl.
