Paradise

My Love

Am I home

At last?

This haven-

Where senses contented

By beauty iridescent

And delighting in their mirth

Waters merrily bubble

Caressing rocks under streams

And lips quaver with clarity

Upon touching fluids crisp, clear and clean

Whimsical birds sing their bliss

Whilst the wind caresses

With a warmth like a lover’s kiss

Feet have lost a longing for action

Upon touching the clay and sward

Enveloped within this enchanting world

With both elation and trepidation

The days end does unfurl

Fiery sunset-reds gives way to deep indigo heavens

To reflect the atmosphere’s evening songs

Indeed the cricket, toad and owl do love to sing

Under a silvery cloak

That veils a Mona Lisa smile

The milky sphere silently sedates the landscape

Into a deep nocturnal sleep

Until dawn breaks again once more

And all the land awakens

With a misty sigh of relief.

My Love?

I am home

At last.
