Sweet Release

Colours of sage green

Connect with golden brown-

Eyes intimately

And urgently meet.

Striding over to her

He suddenly stops

Ever too close

Their bodies

Feel the tingle

Of anticipation…

For so long he has waited

And has sacrificed

Already too much

But today is very different

Today he will forfeit-

And with great resolve

He will form choices

To lend a hand

For his adoration-

For his dreams

Looking down

At the complete beauty

In her upturned face

Her eyes silently express everything-

Assurance, comfort, strength

And so much more

Melting into the sincerity

Of those sage green pools

He cannot move-

Or speak

Or even breathe

She lifts up a warm, soft, hand

And gently lays it upon his face

Her thumb caresses

The rugged skin along his jaw-line

Drawing him down,

Until,

His parted lips

Gently,

Softly,

And meaningfully

Meets hers…

Oh, my, God-

The detonation

Was more

Than worth

The wait!
