The Five Days Before Christmas Prayers. #5!

Admist all the stresses and messes,
There is thanks to give-
To the Great Creator for this chance to live.

Family.
Friends.
Good food.
A home that envelopes both good music and mirth.

And whether a person has all these things or not,
The real thing that matters,
Is that the Holy Spirit dwells inside each of us.
So its not really the “things” that count Lord,
It is the gift you have silently bestowed inside each of us-
A wee but mighty present, just waiting to be opened.

Amen.

  1. Chele, these prayers taken as a whole are beautiful. So many can identify with them, especially day 4. I am prodding you to send this to a publication around June or July (when the accept Christmas stories). This needs –and will get — wide publication. You touched me. I was right there with you each day. 🙂

    • Thank you from the bottom of my heart Anhinga. I was really intimidated about doing such a thing (and “send them out there”), since prayers are considered deeply personal. Despite my concerns about being possibly offensive to anyone who may be traditional with any particular beliefs, I felt this great need to do this for me. I am not a praying type of person and I suppose that this was my introduction to “try” and master this challenge. I find I can find the words better and more easily if I type or write over praying outloud (which I wont) or in my head. I’m a bit of a goof that way, lol. I think I will continue to do so, it was a wonderful stress reliever! Thank you again, (Hugs) 🙂

  2. You’re welcome, Chele. I also ran a short note on my blog linking to your post. Your feelings at this time of year are universal and I think my readers will identify with them as I did. I am not a confident cook and your anguish there really rang true to my feelings. Hope you and your daughter had a very Merry Christmas.

    • Thank You, Anhinga. It was smooth but a stressful Christmas however, we really made the effort to turn things around and have a lot of fun. I hope you and yours, had an excellent time at Christmas also. Hugs 🙂
